Camp H.O.P.E. Testimonials
Let me start by saying there are not enough words to describe Camp H.O.P.E. Both of my sons got the opportunity to go to this wonderful week of camp. T, my eldest, was an inaugural member. Although it's been several years now since he attended, he still speaks of the time that he spent at the beautiful Cathedral Domain and the time he spent with the counselors. Later on, T, my second son, also got to attend. He was so excited to be able to go to camp and get to experience some of the same things his older brother did - especially after his big brother came home telling of all his adventures! When they returned home, we didn't think they were ever going to run out of things to tell us. My husband and I were in awe.
Leadership, confidence, organization, seeing that what you dream can happen, memories for a lifetime, knowledge for a lifetime, and more STUFF than they could carry is what they brought home. If they could go every summer, they would not think twice about it and I would not think twice about letting them attend. Linda and Wen are extraordinary people that came into my boys' lives and gave them the opportunity to live, laugh and learn things that will be with them forever.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they, nor I, will never forget.
I cannot thank them enough. T is now 16 and T is 13. They are both very successful in their school careers, and Camp H.O.P.E. added to that.
Camp H.O.P.E. has taught them that "just believing" can make great things happen!

My name is K. My husband's name is J. and we have four children, J.-16, C.-15, W.-14, and J.-13. I am writing this letter to tell you about the most amazing women who run Camp H.O.P.E. Wen and Linda are the best people we know. I want to tell you just how much these two women mean to us.
My daughter J. was one of the first campers to go to Camp H.O.P.E. After the first time I met Wen and Linda I knew they were good people. J. had a wonderful time. She learned so much while she was there and she made friends she still has today. She even went back the following year as a "Junior Counselor." The following year my son C. went. When he went to the camp he was shy and too outgoing. When I picked him up on "Family Night," he was singing and dancing in front of everyone. My last two children, J. and W., went to Camp H.O.P.E. this past summer, and that was all they talked about for three months before. They just couldn't wait to go. This camp has meant so much to my family that it is hard to put into words. If not for Wen and Linda and the support of sponsors they have, my kids would not have been able to attend a camp like this.
The sponsor money Wen and Linda raise enables them to send children to camp at no charge. The campers are 'adopted' by members of Wen and Linda's organization, and the kids get letters and gifts from the people who 'adopt' them. They make each and every child feel very special.
When they get a group of new campers, Wen and Linda sponsor a pizza party for the entire families at the school. Wen and Linda always invite our family to come so that our kids can tell the new kids how much fun they will have and how much they will learn. There is no time to be bored! My husband J and I answer any of the parents' questions, because some parents have reservations about sending their child away to camp. We tell them they have nothing to worry about. The only think my kids didn't like about camp was leaving! They would have stayed all summer if they could have.
Wen and Linda and their group are the most amazing, trustworthy and super people that it is hard to put into words. Any parent I know that has a kid going to middle school, I tell them to sign up for Camp H.O.P.E. because it is the opportunity of a lifetime. Wen and Linda also have a booth at the Mountain Mushroom Festival here in town, and my kids go down and work the booth with them all day.
Please consider them when you are making donations, because they deserve to give our kids in this county the best camp experience ever. If you have any questions ever, you can call me or my husband J.
